CHILD CARE ASSISTANT PROGRAM

The Forest Home Child Care Assistant (CCA) Program is a discipleship focused program designed for girls ages 13-18 who love Jesus, enjoy caring for children, and want to experience an incredible week at camp. Each day, CCAs will grow in their relationship with the Lord and others, all while providing service to our Family Campers through childcare.

The community that the CCA program brings is one of my favorite parts. Through this, I was able to make lifelong friends who love Christ and glorify Him through creativity just like me! Through seminars and cabin devotionals, God has taught me what authentic faith looks like. Every CCA Counselor in the program displays this faith and it has strengthened mine so much! The counselors and staff at Forest Home are trained and strong in their faith-which means they are awesome to talk to about hard life situations! Camp is a great time to make some rad memories but also learn spiritual life skills.

Experience a Life-Changing Summer

What does a week in the CCA Program look like?

Every meal prepared for you (and it’s great!).

Housing in a cute, classic cabin with other like-minded girls for your entire stay.

Access to fun activities such as an aquatic center, giant waterslides, miniature golf, giant swing, zip-line, ropes course, hiking, etc.

Daily chapel times filled with Biblical teaching, times of worship, and spiritual activities, all led by an enthusiastic, fun-loving staff that are committed to your spiritual, physical, and emotional growth and development.

A shake shack with delicious desserts and a coffee shop with truly excellent brew.

Opportunities to love and serve families at Forest Home through morning trail adventures and nighttime babysitting (including 30 hours of volunteer service!)

Program activities such as evening recreation, dance parties, week-long competitions, and of course, the Lip Sync Battle!
And last but not least, a wonderful community of sisters in Christ who will stick by your side both on and off the mountain.

Due to the discipleship nature of the CCA Program, all participants are required to complete an application as well provide two non-family references. Upon acceptance, a registration link will be sent to the applicant and their parent to register for the summer.

The CCA summer calendar includes Memorial Day Weekend and 3 Sessions. Campers are welcome to register for Memorial Day Weekend and up to three full weeks, though only one week per session.

For example, a camper may register for Memorial Day Weekend and Weeks 2, 5, and 7, but cannot register for Weeks 2 and 3, as they exist within the same session.

Sessions:

  • Memorial Day Weekend
  • Session 1: Weeks 1-3
  • Session 2: Weeks 4-6
  • Session 3: Weeks 7-9

The Forest Home Child Care Assistant (CCA) Program is a Christ-centered discipleship program designed for girls who are already following Jesus Christ and desire to grow deeper in their relationship with Him.  In order to uphold our commitment to camper safety and experience, we enforce the following rules and expectations for campers while they’re at Forest Home.

The Forest Home CCA Program is a “closed program” and we do not allow visitors or non-registered CCAs to visit.  Exceptions can be made for family to visit a CCA getting baptized by contacting cca@foresthome.org.

While girls are serving at Forest Home as a CCA, we expect all CCAs to have a servant’s heart and positive attitude. CCAs will be expected to serve, participate in their own programming, and connect with their peers and leaders around them. We expect and encourage all CCAs to approach their responsibilities throughout the week with a positive attitude and a willingness to serve.

Forest Home reserves the right in its sole discretion to ask that any CCA who we feel is not following these standards to change their behavior and/or to be sent home. Campers sent home for not adhering to camper expectations will be ineligible to return to the CCA Program for the remainder of the summer.

All programming is designed for our campers to grow in their relationship with God, connect with others in community, and serve families through childcare. Between lip sync battles, lake days, and chapel sessions, your camper is sure to have a great time!
